What Inspired It
We have always believed that the spaces we live in shape the way we feel, think and experience life. As architects, we saw that while beautiful homes were being designed, there was often a lack of truly distinctive pieces that could become the soul of a space. That inspired Ekkayi.
The Missing Layer
Most products fall into one of two categories — highly functional or visually artistic. Very few bring both together. We felt design was missing a layer: emotion. People don’t just buy furniture. They buy the feeling a space gives them and remember the object that starts a conversation or becomes part of a special moment. That was the gap we set out to bridge.
The philosophy
Thoughtful Design, Enduring Quality.
Ekkayi Atelier was born from a simple belief — that the objects we surround ourselves with should do more than simply occupy space. They should inspire emotion, enrich everyday living and create meaningful connections.
Every piece is driven by curiosity, material exploration and a deep appreciation for beauty, detail and purpose. For us, furniture and décor are not just products: they become part of the spaces where people gather, celebrate, reflect and create memories.

Every object begins with a question, not a sketch — why should this exist, and what story does it tell? Aalogatha began as a lighting piece designed to create movement within a space, drawn in sequence until the proportions of the column were right.
The founders
The People Behind the Pieces.
Ekkayi is our expression — of how we see the world, and of where our love for architecture, design and the art of curating spaces comes together. Nothing is completely divided between the three of us; whatever comes to the table, we handle it together.

Co-founder · Architect & designer
Ar. Yashvi Patel
An architect by profession and a designer by heart. Travelling taught Yashvi how to build spaces; Venice, during her master's, taught her how to appreciate design. At Ekkayi she reviews and approves every design, runs production alongside Bhavik and looks after marketing, onboarding and accounts.
Nothing truly matters until it creates emotion, a statement and a sense of identity.

Co-founder · Engineer & entrepreneur
Vivek Patel
Over the past decade Vivek has built businesses across real estate, hospitality and exports. Travelling widely, he found that wherever he went, people valued true craftsmanship most — objects made with intention, that carry a story and are truly artistic. At Ekkayi he leads finance and contributes to the branding, naming and business connections that keep the studio moving.
Products are not just purchased. They are collected, admired and passed on.

Co-founder · Architect & designer
Ar. Bhavik Mehta
A gold-medallist architect practising for more than fifteen years, Bhavik leads design at Ekkayi and shares production with Yashvi. His architecture practice has completed more than 180 projects, won national and international awards and been published in magazines in India and abroad. It was always his dream to be a designer: to create objects that leave a lasting impression and add meaning to a space.
Every Ekkayi piece is designed to be timeless, intentional and deeply personal.
A piece to live with
The Statement Piece That Lives Inside Your Home.
People often associate luxury with cars, fashion or grand homes. To us, it is also the piece that transforms the atmosphere of a room and makes you pause, admire and feel something every single day.
We wanted to move away from mass-produced products. Luxury should feel personal, exclusive and thoughtfully crafted, which is why every piece is made by hand and many of our creations are intentionally limited — each one not just a part of your home, but a reflection of your individuality.
Behind every piece
The Hard Part Was Never the Drawing.
Designing beautiful forms comes naturally to us. Turning an idea into a piece that is elegant, structurally strong, built to last and made entirely by hand is a completely different journey — one that asks for immense patience, from the first stage of ideation to the final piece.
Every product demanded research. We explored countless materials, tested joinery techniques, studied mechanisms and refined every detail until it felt premium, performed flawlessly and would stand the test of time. Before designing, we ran questionnaires, interviewed potential users and studied how they interact with furniture and styling objects.
Because none of our products are conventional, every one meant new discussions, multiple prototypes, problem-solving and many meetings to bring the experts together under one vision. Every failed experiment and late-night refinement became part of Ekkayi’s story — and made the products better.
